Obituary of Kathleen M. Stafford

Kathleen M. Stafford "Pat", 86, of West Chester, Pennsylvania, passed peacefully with her family by her side on July 9, 2020. She was born on March 30, 1934 to Harold May and Eileen (Smyth) May in Port Huron, Michigan, raised in Middletown NY. Pat was met by numerous challenges throughout her life but overcame each triumphantly. She was always known as a strong woman, raising 4 children on her own. After graduating high school, Pat went on to nursing school where she became a registered nurse for over forty years, working in many hospitals. Towards the end of her career, Pat worked compassionately as a psychiatric nurse for geriatric patients and at the local VA hospital. In retirement, Pat enjoyed crafts of all sorts (ceramics, decorating presents, etc.), gardening with her green thumb, reading voraciously, and decorating exuberantly for the holidays. All her homes were filled with animals (inside and out). Pat is predeceased by her two sisters Eileen "Roxy" (May) Burns and Colleen May. She is survived by her children Chuck Stafford, Theresa M. Stafford, husband Clay Fidler, Bonnie Jeanne Yount, and Michael Stafford, her grandchildren Heather (Ralston) Lavetsky, Kathleen (Katie) Yount, and Paula Yount, and great grandchildren River Yount, Daniel Lavetsky, and Kiera Lavetsky.
