Obituary of Margaret Ferree Magaro
Margaret Ferree Magaro, 94, formerly of Harrisburg PA, passed away on Mother's Day, May 12 , in
Tucson AZ, surrounded by the love of her family.
She was born June 19, 1924 in Wiconisco, daughter of the late Clarence and Nellie (Shomper) Ferree.
On Dec 31, 1945, she married Raymond C. Magaro, who preceded her in death Oct 1, 2011.
Together in 1958 they established a family home improvement business, Ray C. Magaro & Son.
She was the dedicated manager and was responsible for the advancement and success of the business
for over 50 years.
A lifelong resident of Harrisburg, she was a member of St. Catherine Labore Roman Catholic Church.
Margaret was a wonderful homemaker and cook. She especially enjoyed preparing holiday dinners and
welcoming extended family and her sons' friends. She was a dedicated caretaker to her husband when
he was ill, tending to him every day while he resided in an assisted living facility.
She is survived by sons Gregg Magaro (Nancy) of Tucson AZ, Dennis Magaro (Lisa) of Salt Lake City UT,
sister Ruth Detweiler of Hummelstown, brother Dean (Shirley) Ferree of Lykens, and numerous nieces
and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Rose, brothers Clarence, Paul, Raymond and Robert Ferree
and sister Jane Ferree Begani
We would like to thank the many customers and vendors who supported the family business over the
years, especially the sub- contractors who were dedicated to quality work and maintaining our good
name.
A huge thank you to family and friends who took time out of their lives to visit Margaret and Ray, both
at home and in their assisted living residences. The time and love you gave to them was more
meaningful than anything else.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to National Alzheimers Research or St Jude
Children's Research Hospital, 502 St Jude Place, Memphis TN 38105
Funeral Mass will be held at St Thomas More Catholic Parish , Sandy, Utah
Burial will be at Resurrection Cemetery Harrisburg, PA, at the convenience of the family.
