Obituary of David W. McCain

David William McCain, 63; of Harrisburg passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, November 12, 2014 at the Lebanon VA Medical Center. David was born on June 17, 1951 to the late Willie and Norma (Geyer) McCain. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with family and friends. He served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. David was the widower of Alma Gregory McCain. Surviving are his children, a son, David Smith, daughters, Ernestine Williams and Mary McCain, a brother, Robert and wife Sondra McCain, all of Harrisburg, a sister, Joann Prather of Georgia, 15 Grandchildren, 1 Great Grandchild, an Aunt, Ellen Pleasant, all of Harrisburg, a Godchild, LaKisha McCain of Kentucky and a Devoted Companion, Rashida Lyles of Harrisburg and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Words of Comfort will be shared on Wednesday, November 19, 2014 at 7:30 pm at the Dailey Funeral Home, a viewing will be held prior from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm in the funeral home. Inurnment will be held on Friday, November 21, 2014 at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery where Full Military Honors will be presented for our fallen hero.
