Obituary of Nathalie A. Brown
Nathalie A. Brown, 79, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 23, 2019, after a long struggle with Parkinson's Disease. She was born in Hartford, Connecticut on January 9, 1940, to the late Edward J. and Nathalie S. Brown. She was a graduate of Catholic High School in Harrisburg in 1957, and College Misericordia in Dallas, PA in 1961. After securing a Bachelor's Degree in Education, she began teaching at Bishop McDevitt High School and then Saint Margaret Mary Elementary School. She spent her later years working for the State Department of Labor and Industry as an Administrative Assistant. After her retirement, she lovingly cared for her mother until her mother's death.
She was predeceased by her four brothers, Gregory, Edward Jr., Richard, and Paul, and two sisters, Mary Elise and Margaret. She is survived by her half-sister, Janine Zemaitis, and many nieces and nephews. She was a gentle soul who treated her nieces and nephews like her own children.
Nat was an accomplished seamstress who enjoyed sharing her talents and spending time with her family. In her younger days, she enjoyed traveling, especially to visit her brother, Greg, in Alaska.
She was a devout member of Saint Margaret Mary Roman Catholic Church. Visitation will be Thursday, March 28, 2019, from 6:00-8:00 P.M. at Dailey Funeral Home in Penbrook. Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, March 29, 2019, at 10:00 A.M. at Saint Margaret Mary Roman Catholic Church in Harrisburg. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery.
Her family would like to express sincere gratitude to the staff of Brookdale Senior Living and the nurses at Grane Hospice for their compassionate care of "Aunt Nat."
