Obituary of Olga Yakowenko

Olga Yakowenko, 91, of the Wilson Health Care Center at Asbury Methodist Village, Gaithersburg, Maryland, passed away on Tuesday, June 25, 2019. Olga was formerly of Lower Paxton Township, Harrisburg, PA. Olga was born on July 16, 1927 in Simpson, PA and was a daughter of the late Nicholas Labowsky and Mary (Muta) Labowsky. Olga was the widow of Walter Yakowenko. She was a member of St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church of Harrisburg. Olga enjoyed traveling with the Lower Paxton Golden Age Club, listening to music and visiting Hershey Park. She was retired from Sears, Roebuck and Co. Surviving are her children, Eileen (Tom) Sheehan and Gerald (Stacie) Yakowenko; grandchildren Ellyn Yakowenko (Jake Majewski), Colleen (Sean) Burke, Erin Sheehan (Klaus Weisbrodt), and Emily Yakowenko (Zach Huey); and great-grandchildren Mabel Majewski, Cameron Burke, Chance Majewski and Cora Burke. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a sister Stella Harkenreader and a brother Steve Laboski. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, July 1, 2019 at 11:00 AM. A viewing will be held from 10 to 11 AM at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, 2800 Paxton Church Road, Harrisburg, PA 17110 prior to Mass. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery, West Hanover Twp., Harrisburg, PA.
