Obituary of Phyllis G. Hedenberg
Phyllis G. Hedenberg, 73, of Harrisburg, PA, passed away on Tuesday, September 19, 2017, at her home. She was born on November 25, 1943, in Mifflintown, PA, to the late Jacob Vernal and Esther Emma (Coldren) Swartz.
Phyllis was a retired legal secretary at Eckert, Seamans, Cherin & Mellott. She was an avid member and Deacon of Progress-Immanuel Presbyterian Church, which has merged into Faith Immanuel Presbyterian Church.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Tom M. Hedenberg; sister, Loretta Benner; and brothers, Cecil Swartz Sr. and Ivan Swartz Sr.
Phyllis is survived by her two sons, Kurt (Aja) Hedenberg and Eric (Megan) Hedenberg; grandchildren, Klayton, Emalee and Kyden; sisters, Jean Dunn, Doris Turbett, and Wyona Marpoe; brother, Dennis Swartz as well as her sister-in-law, Barbara Narehood.
A memorial service to honor her life will begin at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 30, 2017 at Faith Immanuel Presbyterian Church, 1801 Colonial Road, Harrisburg, PA 17112 with Rev. Allison R. Spooner officiating. There will be a visitation from 11:00-12:00, at the church. Family and friends are invited to a reception following the service.
