Obituary of Sherry L. Caswell - Bixler
Sherry Lee Caswell - Bixler, of Marietta PA., passed away peacefully on Friday, January 15, 2016 in the Mount Joy Hospice Center after battling cancer since 1999. Sherry was born on February 14, (Valentine's day), 1965 in Columbia, PA. She was a sweetheart ! She graduated from Columbia High School in 1983 and was a congregant of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Columbia, PA. She was employed by the ABC auto auction as an office administrator. Sherry was also member of numerous organizations including The American Legion Post #372, The Catholic War Vets Post #1306, Weimaraner Club of America, and Drum Majorettes of America. She was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers Fan and Loved riding her Harley Davidson V Rode with her friend Patrick Wiker. Among Sherry's accomplishments in life was co-owing the Red Rose Baton and Dance Studios with Angie Burke on Locust Street in Columbia, being a majorette and instructor for Pennsy Strutters where she won the National Leadership award as a majorette, and being a judge in numerous local and nation competitions for baton She also instructed the majorettes at E-town High School, for a couple years and they traveled to Disney World in Florida to perform, under her tutelage. Another passion was showing various dogs in dog shows; however, her favorite was with the breed of Weimaraners. She raised numerous champions in this arena and three Weimaraners attained the highest level of competition by showing at the Westminster Kennel Club Show and has judge events for that as well. Surviving are her Mother, Janet F. and Step Father, Harry J. Sauder of Columbia, PA; former husband K. Barry Bixler of Marietta; a brother; Anthony D. Caswell, (wife, Guadalupe Z.) niece Gabrielle Lee all of Delaware; and a nephew; Anthony D. Caswell, Jr., of Florida. Sherry was preceded in death by her father Edward W. Caswell and a brother Wayne E. Caswell.
A memorial Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, January 26, 2016 at 10:00 A.M. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Columbia, PA. A visitation will be held from 9 to 10:00 A.M. at the church. Interment will follow in Laurel Hill Memorial Gardens. The number of people that Sherry has inspired throughout her battle with cancer is truly overwhelming and the outpouring of support from friends throughout the world has been tremendous and thoroughly appreciated. Sherry was loved by many and will always be remembered for her smile and her friendship to everyone she met. She definitely brightened up the halls of CHS for every student and teacher. Sherry may be gone but her memory will forever live on in the hearts of all those who loved her. My thoughts and prayers are with you all at this time.
