Obituary of James F. Schiffhauer

James F. Schiffhauer, 61, of Harrisburg, passed away last week at home. Born on February 6, 1957, in Harrisburg, PA, he was the son of the late Louis E. Schiffhauer and Maria (Elscheid) Pari. He graduated from Bishop McDevitt High School in 1976, was a member of Saint Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, and was a lifelong member of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters, Local 776. Early in his career, Jim was a brakeman for Conrail and retired in recent years as a tractor trailer driver for UPS. He was a lifelong sports fan who enjoyed talking about his beloved Philadelphia Eagles, Notre Dame Fighting Irish, and Philadelphia Phillies. Jim was predeceased by his eldest brother John C. and is survived by his brothers Louis M. and Thomas E., and his sister Maria (Jackson) Schiffhauer, all of Harrisburg, as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, and his beloved canine companion, Goober. A memorial gathering will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions can be made to the Wounded Warrior Project. Condolences and memories can be shared at
