John V. (Jack) Corrigan, 86, passed away at UPMC Pinnacle Hospital on
January 8, 2021. He was born in Ashland, PA on July 6, 1934 to George and
Theresa (Shue) Corrigan. Jack was a 1952 graduate of Saint Joseph’s Catholic
High School where he was a classmate of the love of his life and his wife of 34
years, Virginia (Ross) Corrigan who has undoubtedly welcomed him to
heaven. He was also predeceased by his parents, his older brother Robert and
his younger brother Thomas. He is survived by his youngest brother James.
Jack earned his Associates degree from Penn State University. He retired from
Source Interlink Companies in 2008. He is a Veteran of the Korean War, was an
active member of the Knights of Columbus and former President of the St.
Margaret Mary Athletic Association. Jack enjoyed golfing, Notre Dame football
and most of all, spending time with his family.
He was exceptionally devoted to his five children and their spouses: Jill
Ametrano (Carmen); John V, II (Michelle); Michael (Christine); Christopher;
and Patrick (Serena) all living in Harrisburg. The last third of his life was
greatly enhanced by the love and joy of his 11 grandchildren and six great
grandchildren who could depend on "Pop” to be a constant figure at sporting
events, recitals and family gatherings. His family meant everything to him
and he meant everything to his family. He leaves us with our perpetual
gratitude for all that he has done as a father, grandfather and great
grandfather.
