Obituary of Margaret M. Shillingsford

Margaret (Peg) Shillingsford, 81, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Friday, April 15, 2022. She is preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Kenneth L. Shillingsford, Jr., her parents Charles and Dorothy Zimmerman, and her brother Mart Zimmerman. Peg was born and raised in Selinsgrove, Pennsylvania and graduated from Selinsgrove High School in 1958. She worked at Susquehanna University and Villa Teresa Nursing Home. She retired from Hansel & Gretel Learning Center. She would often run into kids who remembered Miss Peg. She enjoyed spending time with her family and going for drives. Peg loved to embroider holiday hand towels for her granddaughters. She loved to follow the antics of her first great granddaughter. Peg loved the annual Christmas tradition of making sand tarts with all of her grandchildren. She is survived by her daughter Lori Wenrich and husband Jack of Harrisburg; granddaughter Gretchen Wenrich of Harrisburg; son Andrew Shillingsford Sr. and wife Kristin of New Cumberland; granddaughter Victoria Harrell and her husband Eric of Farragut, Tennessee; grandson Andrew Shillingsford Jr of Tampa, Florida; and great granddaughter Suzie Mae Harrell of Farragut, Tennessee. Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 23, 2022 at Gilbert L. Dailey Funeral Home from 11:00AM to 12:00PM, followed by a memorial service at noon. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the American Heart Association.
