Obituary of William P. Szivos, Sr.

William Paul Szivos, Sr., 89, of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, passed away surrounded by his family on October 16, 2022, in Middletown, Pennsylvania. Born August 31, 1933, in Fishing Creek, Pennsylvania, he was the son of late James Snyder and Mary Szivos.
William was a high school graduate graduating from Swatara in 1953 and then marrying the love of his life, Darla Nornhold, at St. Patrick Cathedral in Harrisburg in 1957. He was married to Darla for 40 years before her passing in 1998. He then went on to run a private club for many years in the Harrisburg area.
Predeceased to William is his wife Darla, a brother, Lester Ramsey, his parents, and a great grandson Blake Szivos.
Surviving are William’s children; William P. Szivos, Jr (Tina) of Middletown, Pennsylvania, Patricia E. Celsky (Dale) of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania Theresa L. Quinones of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, and Michael P. Szivos (Ellen E.) of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. His grandchildren William III, Samantha Grace, Darlene, Dale, Colin, Angelique, Andrew, Frank, Jonathan, Nicholas, Sarah, Stephanie, and Michelle. William is also survived by his oldest sister Joanna E. Leonard and a brother Peter R. Pease, in addition to numerous great grandchildren.
William enjoyed candy, pies, basketball, and above all else, his family. William’s children and
grandchildren were his highest priority and he often enjoyed spending time with them, especially
at live sporting events. He also enjoyed deep sea fishing in Baltimore, Lewis, and Delaware.
A viewing will be held at Dailey Funeral Home on October 21, 2022, from 10 A.M. to 11 A.M., followed by procession to Holy Family Roman Catholic Church with mass at 11:30 A.M. A graveside service and burial will be held at Holy Cross Cemetery directly after mass.
