Mary Alice Rodgers, 83, passed into eternal life at UPMC Community Osteopathic on Thursday, March 30, 2023. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of fifty years, William Rodgers; her grandson, Jonathan Fagan; her parents, Anthony and Alice Crouthamel; as well as her sister Joanne and her brothers Anthony and Robert. She is also survived by several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Mary Alice, also known as Mom, Mary, Cookie, Nanny, and Great-Nanny, loved nothing more than spending time with her family and her dogs. She was so proud of her grandchildren and great-granddaughter and loved telling others stories about them. She was greatly looking forward to the arrival of her new great-grandson. Outside of family, Mary Alice loved all things Notre Dame and enjoyed numerous trips to South Bend for football games with her “Golden Domer” family and friends. She also loved the summers she spent at the beach with family. Whether relaxing while watching football, playing cards, or celebrating special occasions with family, Nanny would often be seen with a Coors Light, which was absolutely her drink of choice. In regards to her career, Mary Alice most enjoyed the years she worked for Goldsmith-Flanigan’s Furniture and many years in the trust department of M & T Bank in Harrisburg before retiring. She had a passion for life that was hard to match and she will always be remembered with laughter and love. A memorial service for family and friends will be held at Saint Theresa of the Infant Jesus Parish, 1300 Bridge Street, New Cumberland, PA, 17070, on Friday, April 21, at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Harrisburg, Inc., 7790 Grayson Road, Harrisburg, PA, 17111.
