I loved him like a brother from another father. We met in 1957 at the boys club. Other kids misunderstood him. I knew we were gonna be friends. We always competed in everything. Most ironic ending was standing in the vestibule at the hospital preparing myself for a visit I could see a hill he and I sat on in 69 doing orange barrels. He went out like he loved to be “high as possible “. I love you Cheer.

Oh dearest Billy from Philly... At our very first meeting at St Anthony's Church in Renton Washington, you introduced yourself to us. You looked like St Peter to me. You were right there to make sure that our devotions and our catholicosity was in line. You became such a big part of our family life. The Hatch's wouldn't be the same without your influence in our lives... Thank you for the endless amount of prayer time with you, thank you for the smiles and the laughs that went on and on, thank you for your example to each one of our children. You loved Jesus and Mary so much! You give us great consolation to your reward. You may have never made it to your second million... But may the riches that you truly worked for shine forth as you give glory to your Lord and your King. Be good and do good!

I was one of many priests who had the joy and honor of serving Billy and sharing in his life . He has been in my prayers and I have offered Mass for him, including on the day the Lord ended up calling him home. May he now rest eternally in the Hearts of Jesus and Mary, whom he loved so very much. Pray for us Billy!
In Jesus and Mary,
Fr. W. R. Harris
