Obituary of Dorothy R. Egenrieder

Dorothy Frances ( Napiltonia) Egenrieder, 86 of Harrisburg passed away peacefully at Harrisburg Hospital on January 22, 2017 with her family by her side. Dottie was a beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Great grandmother. Born on December 3, 1930 she was the daughter of the late Vensano and Edna Napiltonia. She was a graduate of Catholic High School class of 1948. She was employed at Bell Telephone, Cooper Helms Chevrolet, Gingerich Buick and Royer Buick. Dottie volunteered for years at Holy Name of Jesus Church and School. Along with Father Mahoney her dear friend, they spearheaded the hot lunch program for the school in the late 1960's. Most of all she valued faith, family and friends above all else and cherished her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. The religious beliefs she held guided her on the path to heaven and not a moment went by without prayer in her heart and rosary beads in hand. She was a proud member of the National Rosary Society, Prayer Line, and Women's Council. She was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years Charles J. Egenrieder, son Robert A. Egenrieder, daughter Teresa A. Harber (Egenrieder) and Son in law Robert Frey III. She is survived by her sons Charles J. Egenrieder II and wife Virginia, Stephen A. Egenrieder and wife Diane, Michael J. Egenrieder and wife Michele, daughter Dorothy M. Frey, sister Roberta Buskey, Grandchildren Heather, Leslie, Adrienne, Melanie, Rachel, Robert, Anne, Ryan, Mathew, Anthony, Great grandchildren Annabel, Adeline, Maya, Calvin, Robert and Benson. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 25, 2017 from 9:30 to 11:00 A.M., at Holy Name of Jesus Roman Catholic Church. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 A.M.; with The Very Reverend Martin O. Moran III officiating. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery West Hanover Twp.
