Obituary of Frances Rosina Malfara

Frances Rosina (Provazzo) Malfara, 80 returned peacefully Home on Saturday, March 26, 2016 with her loving family by her side. Born on September 24, 1935 to Gaetano and Eugenia Provazzo in Harrisburg, she spent most of her childhood in Carlisle, PA. Her fondest memory growing up was spending time with her father in his food truck selling hot dogs and ice cream to the workers building the highways and roads on the west shore as well as other businesses and local sporting events. She married Vito Malfara on May 27, 1961, and then settled in Harrisburg where they raised their two sons. She was a member of St. Catherine Laboure Parish in Harrisburg where she sang in the church choir and belonged to the Coffee Cup Club. In her later years, she enjoyed going to the pool at the Friendship Center in Lower Paxton. She was employed as a clerk by the Pomeroy's Department Store and at Feeser's Food Distributers in Harrisburg. She is survived by her sons Stefano Malfara (wife Pam) and Guy Vito Malfara; siblings Rosina Provazzo, Vincent Provazzo (wife Lana) and Mary Ulrich (husband Charles); her grandsons Leo, Dylan and Damien Malfara and granddaughter Augustina Longo; her brothers- and sisters-in-law Giuseppi & Nicolina Macri; Angelo & Stella Malfara; Domenic & Maria Teresa Malfara and many nieces & nephews in the US, Canada and Italy She is preceded in death by her loving husband; by her parents; her father-& mother-in-Law Stefano Malfara and Mattea Pileggi; her brothers- & sisters-in-laws Dominic & Felicia Fera and Josephine & Paul Patti; her niece and nephew Cecilia & Stefano Macri as well as several aunts and uncles. Viewing will be held on Thursday night, 7PM to 9PM at Dailey Funeral Home in Harrisburg and Friday 11AM to 12 Noon at St .Catherine Laboure Parish followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 12 Noon.
