Obituary of Gertrude E. Walton

Gertrude Elizabeth "Trudy" Walton went home to be with the Lord on November 26 at the Laurel Run Nursing Home. She was 82. Trudy was formerly from Wellsville, PA and was preceded in death by her husband, Norman E. Walton. Born on April 13, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Sadie and Luther Becker. Trudy retired in 1993 from Kinney Shoe Retail Accounting Center in Shiremanstown, Pennsylvania. She is survived by daughter, Teresa J. Walton-Shellehamer and her husband, Rick Shellehamer of York Springs; daughter, Patricia A. Walton of Biglerville; step-daughter, Sandra K. Walton-Hoath and her husband, Joseph Hoath of North Ft. Myers, Florida; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Trudy was a New York Yankees' fan; enjoyed reading and spending time with her family. Visitation will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 2, 2014 at Mt. Olivet United Church of Christ, 265 Two Churches Road, East Berlin, PA. Service will begin at 11:00 a.m. at the church with internment immediately following in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
