Tina Marie Kisthardt
Tina Marie Kisthardt left this world on Saturday October 03, 2020 at 11:30 PM with her loving daughter Samantha, husband Adam, Mother JoAnne, sister Catherine, and sister in-law Carol at her side.
Tina had bravely fought cholangiocarcinoma, a bile duct liver cancer, since being diagnosed in December of 2018. She approached her struggle with the dignity and courage that only Tina could bring to such a terrible disease. It meant a great deal to Tina to raise awareness of this disease and to that end she was a member of the Cholangiocarcinoma Society, the Cholangiocarcinoma Warriors and she also worked closely with Pennsylvania State Representative Frank Ryan to have February 20th designated as Cholangiocarcinoma awareness day in the State of Pennsylvania.
Tina urged all people to familiarize themselves with the symptoms of this disease.
Tina was a dedicated mother to Samantha. To that end Tina was an enthusiastic supporter of the North Carolina State University Rowing Team where her daughter Samantha competed in collegiate rowing. She also supported the Palmyra High School swim team, Palmyra Sharks swim team and Annville Otters swim team where she made many friends and spent many a happy summer day watching her daughter compete with children throughout each respective sport. Tina also enjoyed Samantha being a member of the North Carolina State University Rowing Team where she served as both a oarsman and a coxswain. Tina had the great satisfaction of seeing her daughter Samantha graduate from North Carolina State University with a BS in Microbiology in the Spring of 2020, a full year early in her program. She also got to see Samantha recently become a Visiting Scholar at NC State where she is engaged in researching the Covid Virus. Tina’s greatest pride and joy in life was her daughter Samantha.
Tina always helped her husband Adam succeed in his career. She also spent many a day accompanying Adam on rides in vintage sports cars such as their Triumph Spitfire. She supported the Central Pennsylvania Triumph Club of which they were both enthusiastic members by throwing parties and participating in time distance rallies and car tours. Tina is also the loving sister of Catherine and her husband Mark and spent many hours Stand Up Paddle Boarding on the ocean and inter coastal water way and enjoying the beaches of Florida.
Tina also spent a good deal of time in one her favorite places the island of St John in the USVI doing things such as snorkeling and swimming and exploring. Tina was extremely physically fit and placed and won several 10 K races and strived to be a role model of healthy living. Most importantly, Tina was a member ofthe Peanuts Collectors Club of America and loved Charles Schultz’s comic creation Snoopy and The Peanuts Gang. She attended Peanuts Collectors Meets and traveled to Santa Rosa where she met and talked with Charles Schultz and visited the museum dedicated to his work and ate lunch at his café, The Warm Puppy.
Tina spent a work career serving people in the Dental field. Tina was a 1986 graduate of Lehigh County Community College where she earned her certification as a Dental Assistant. Tina worked as a Dental Assistant for 6 years. In 1992 she graduated from Harrisburg Area Community College as a member of the first ever HACC Dental Hygienist class. She distinguished herself by achieving highest honors and receiving several awards as a result of her effort in college. Tina then served as a Dental Hygienist for 26 years. Tina was licensed by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania as a Dental Hygienist and was a member of the Harrisburg Dental Hygienists Society. Her patients adored her and she would actually visit elderly patients at their assisted living homes and she did everything she could to brighten their day.
Tina was predeceased by her Father William “Sonny” Ebert, Brother William Ebert and is survived by her Mother Joann and sister Catherine. She is survived by her husband Adam Kisthardt, and daughter Samantha. All who knew Tina were touched by her infectious caring and loving attitude towards people. She was always upbeat and an
eternal optimist. She was always dedicated to her family and made all who knew her
happy.
