Lori A. Wenrich, age 60, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Sunday, July 16, 2023 at Hershey Medical Center in Hershey, PA.
She was born on May 15, 1963 in Harrisburg, PA to Kenneth and Margaret (Zimmerman) Shillingsford. She was a 1981 graduate of Central Dauphin East High School and continued on to receive an Associate’s Degree from Thompson Institute in 1983. She worked as an Administrative Assistant for the Family Health Council of Central PA for 40 years. She married Jonathan W. Wenrich, Jr. on May 3, 1986. They were married for 37 years and had one child, Gretchen.
Lori enjoyed scrapbooking, gardening, Girls’ Day Out shopping adventures, watching the Food Network and year-round Hallmark movies, and spending time with friends and family. She loved the holidays for the big family get-togethers, for which she was always known as the “master planner” of food and fun activities. She loved going to Myrtle Beach, SC every summer to search for seashells to add to her collection. Around Christmastime, you could find her home decorated with dozens of gingerbread figurines - her favorite. She was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church in Harrisburg, PA.
Lori is survived by her husband Jonathan “Jack" and daughter Gretchen of Harrisburg, brother Andrew Shillingsford Sr. and wife Kristin of New Cumberland, niece Victoria Harrell and husband Eric of Knoxville, Tennessee, and nephew Andrew Shillingsford Jr. of Clearwater, Florida. She is proceeded in death by her parents and grandparents.
A memorial service to celebrate Lori’s life will be held at her brother’s residence on Saturday, August 12, 2023 starting at 11:00 AM. Anyone who wishes to join for food, family, and friendship to reminisce on what a special gift Lori was is welcome. For the address and/or directions, please contact Gilbert L.
